Our whole clothing manufacturing, transport and distribution process is audited independently to assess environmental impact. This process is undertaken in-line with the Carbon Trust PAS 2050 standard.
The PAS 2050 was first published in 2008 by the Carbon Trust as the first international standard for companies to measure the carbon footprint of their products and services.
The Carbon footprint of a product of service is the total carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gasses emitted during its life, from production to final disposal.
Our Carbon footprint is calculated for each garment in Kg. This is the amount you see on the stamp attached to each garment.
We are working with Piqqo.com to support projects that offset the carbon use. How this works is that we pay a levy on each garment, to a chosen project, through Piqqo, that Œoffsets¹ the Carbon Emissions created in getting this product to your door. We have chosen to support the Kikonda Uganda forestry project which employs local people to help protect and expand natural forests previously destroyed by illegal logging. |
